Hi there! welcome to my space...
My name is Aleksandra Królak and I am a 38 years old mother of two children. I am a tolerant, judgment-free, and down-to-earth doula. I create an open environment through a calm presence and active listening to your needs.
I came to Berlin over 13 years ago from Warsaw, Poland, to develop my career professionally (a fun factor of the city was also a big plus, no lies!). Only after I found out that I was pregnant two years after, I realized how scary, isolating, and overwhelming experience of becoming a mother is, not to mention planning a birth far away from home and family!
As your doula, I deeply understand what you are going through - being alone in a new country with a limited support network, submerged in a foreign and complicated language, and a whole new healthcare system is really scary. I navigate you through all of the points and turns on your way, guarding your well-being and protecting your birth wishes.
I am a mother of two beautiful souls whose births were life-changing events leading me to my doula pathway. Each of them was a unique experience, offering a spiritual lesson on humility and the power of women's bodies and instincts.

Interviews
Just a couple of opportunities I was given to talk about birth. Links are taking you directly to the interview.

Let's talk in...
English
Full proficiency in writing and speaking.
I have completed all my doula training in English and it is my main language for over 15 years now. I understand how language influences us and I pay attention to small nuances that can make a difference when we are most vulnerable and sensitive.
German
Full proficiency in speaking and writing.
I can facilitate communication between you and hospital staff or healthcare providers, help you fill out forms, or construct an email while dealing with Berlin's administrative offices like Standesamt or Bürgeramt
Polish
It's my mother tongue and the most important part of my culture. Although it gets sometimes rusty after living for many years abroad, I enjoy reading books in Polish or watching old movies. This is the language that makes me feel at home. I speak exclusively Polish to my children.
French
Upper-intermediate.
I feel comfortable having a casual conversation and I understand a lot! My children are half French, so I naturally soak in the French culture, language, and casual speaking forms.

My certifications and trainings
constantly updating my evicence-based knowledge and empathic skillset
